With Rotapower engines as powerplant of choice, Moller International has developed a number of small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV's) called Aerobots. Aerobots use the ducted fan and stabilization and control technology developed by Moller to provide vertical takeoff and landing, hover, and translation ability. Aerobots are capable of operating entirely autonomously as airborne robots, or semi-autonomously as remotely controlled aerial platforms. They are capable of vertical takeoff and landing from unimproved sites without special launch or recovery equipment; they can hover at a fixed point or move horizontally at moderate speeds. They are very safe and quiet due to the ducted fan technology. They can also be easily controlled by a single operator. A simple to operate, stable aerial platform, Moller Aerobots are ideally suited for remote sensing, observation, inspection, and photography. For more information about the Aerobot, look at the Moller International web site. |
